GROVELAND FLY TYERS

GROVELAND FLY TYERS is a club that meets a few times a year, providing a venue for fly fisherman to hone their tying and fishing skills and pick up some new ideas.

Meetings typically involve one or more fly tyer(s) who demonstrate a couple of fly patterns. Flies demonstrated are traditional as well as new and innovative patterns, with most designs intended for our great local fishing for trout, bass, carp, and bluegill.  Flies for striped bass, shad, steelhead, saltwater, and other species/water types are demonstrated occasionally as well.

In addition to flytying, Groveland Fly Tyers also provides a meeting place for local fly fisherman to socialize and share tips on fishing locations, tackle, and techniques for our local waters.  Other club activities include “casting nights” and “fishouts”.  Some of our members are not into tying, more into fishing.

Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Tyers will all benefit from this club, and Beginner Fly Tying Lessons are periodically available.
